Norwegian Wood

A masterly novel. When he hears her favourite Beatles song, Toru Watanabe recalls his first love Naoko, the girlfriend of his best friend Kizuki. Immediately immersed in his teens, he re-experiences a time when sex and love were synonymous - a period of pure potential. Now Naoko is remote, living in a sanatorium. When Toru begins to fall for the lively Midori, he has to choose between his memories and letting go.
